The unit was clean – the face piece had a transparent plastic (looks scratched), but it was there to protect the actual face of the unit.  Added the security under WPA2-PSK – and this worked really well (Netgear suggestion for robust network use). Connected my iMac downstairs, iPhone 3G, Macbook Pro, and work’s Dell laptop – right away by entering the SSID and the password.
